The Basic Software Company Story
Meet Jake
Founder & CEO Jake Santangelo started The Basic Software Company in 2015 in Michigan. Originally starting a travel app, Jake pivoted the company after realizing customers really needed a productivity app that he programmed to help him run the travel app. This app would later become SwiftCall, which was published to the App Store in 2017. These productivity apps ultimately became the SwiftSuite, a series of productivity apps that have made it into the Top 10 Business Apps and the Top 200 Education apps.
Principles matter. Our apps respect your privacy. Our apps have transparent pricing without any gotchas. Our products work upon purchase, without any hidden fees for core functionality. The BS Company's products do not have the BS that the other companies have. And we pride ourselves on that.
We give back to the community. When the government negligence in Michigan led to the Flint Water Crisis, Jake programmed SafeWater Flint to help residents in Flint find clean water, later earning a Character Award for his work.
What's in store for the future of The Basic Software Company? Here at The Basic Software Company, we believe the only future is the one you make. Even if that doesn't entirely make sense, we'll continue incorporating the core company principles of Live. Laugh. Love. into the work that we do. So far it's working out pretty well.
